Sanna Reitz
hybris

Sanna Reiz’s hybris series deals with the aesthetic conquest. Through geometric trimmings of plants, she forms a hedge. The essence of human dominance anchors the underlying absolutist concept that nature is human’s enemy and that humans must chain and conquer it. With steady efforts, the hedge seeks to directly match its shape with the nearby architecture. Here, nature proves that it cannot be chained but rather impressive enough to be seen in a museum.
