Katja Stuke
o.T.3

In her work “Japanese Lesson,” the photographers Katja Stuke deals with questions of the political and social landscape in Japan. Notice any trees? The detailed photograph shows an urban setting, developed areas meant for housing. How could any trees even grow here? Believe it or not, some do flourish into various shapes, such as mushrooms. When trimmed, the trees look artificial, boasting dystopian appearances rather than invigorating ones.
