Nina Röder’s image is part of her series WENN DU GEHEN MUSST WILLST DU DOCH AUCH BLEIBEN. It depicts her mother in a yoga pose and wearing Röder’s grandmother’s nightdress. The photograph processes grief and loss. Together with her mother, they were responsible for selling the house of her deceased grandparents. The difficult part was going through all of the items of the house, deciding which to keep or give away. Through photography, Röder and her mother discovered a way of saying goodbye to her grandparents in a loving and imaginative way.
