Brigitte Dunkel’s work “Metal Me” is part of the serial project THIS IS NOT. The visual material was shot using an iPhone CE 0682 and edited using layout software available as an app. The visually alienated elements appear ornamental to the art, thus deviating from the actual source material. Dunkel also draws an analogy to image production: “Ceci n’est pas (une pipe)” – translated means, “we see a picture of something, but not of what was depicted.”
