Oleksandr Davydov
Yalta, Crimea, Ukraine 2012

Oleksandr Davydov’s photograph from 2012 is a reference to the time before the annexation of Crimea, when Yalta was still one of the most popular spa towns and holiday resorts in the Ukraine. People could indulge in free hustle and bustle, oblivious to their desires and needs for diversion and recreation. The little monkeys in the picture are an expression “de curiosité” of this libertarian basic attitude within this cosmos at that time. The fairground and playground of this freedom is now under a foreign flag and was the starting point of the impending warlike disaster that continues to this day.
